In May 2018, I realized that I wanted to experiment with social media in a way that wouldn't disrupt my professional work, but still enable me to keep up with trends. I started an Instagram micro blog called Black Girls Eat DC. For the first year, I brought on one of my closest friends mostly to accompany me for dining experiences, but as I got more comfortable being an "influencer," I went totally solo. The growth has been 100% organic. I work with local and national food brands and my pictures have been featured in campaigns across the country. I've been on panels and featured in a few publications.
